Global Prayer Day for South East Asians

From the Office of Adventist Mission, we want to invite you to join the GC Global Prayer Day: Praying for Our South Asian Neighbors and to help extend this invitation through your pastors, churches, prayer groups, and ministry networks. South Asia is not only a mission field across the ocean. It is part of the North American mission field. The 2020 U.S. Census counted nearly 4.4 million people identifying as Asian Indian alone, while Canada’s 2021 Census counted more than 2.57 million South Asians—7.1% of the nation’s population. These neighbors come from diverse Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Christian, and other religious and cultural backgrounds, and we want to mobilize our churches to be intentional about reaching these unreached communities.  We see these communities across our territory—from the New York–New Jersey area, Washington–Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, and the San Francisco Bay Area to Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton. They are our coworkers, classmates, business owners, physicians, friends, and neighbors. On November 1, Adventists around the world will gather to pray that our neighbors from South Asia may experience God’s love, encounter Jesus, and discover hope and salvation in Him. Guest speaker Richard E. McEdward, General Conference Secretary, will join this live online gathering organized by the GC Global Mission Center for South Asian Religions.
