PRAYER CORNER "GIVING UP IS NOT AN OPTION" DAY 18
THE METAMORPHOSIS Romans 12:2---And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. We have seen the beauty of a butterfly. The array of colors and the elegance in the way a butterfly takes flight brings sun to a cloudy day. However, what we do not often realize is the metamorphosis which takes place in the life of the butterfly. Before the beauty of the butterfly springs forth, the shell of the caterpillar has to be shed, and the process of metamorphosis begins to take the place. The transformation of a caterpillar to butterfly entails entering different stages. This metamorphosis takes a period of time and requires a dark period before the beauty of who God created us to be springs forth, the shell of our sinful nature must be shed. We must experience a metamorphosis which begins in our minds. This transformation often happens in a dark place where we experience difficult issues and trying circumstances. However, as we renew our mind day by day through prayer, fasting, and meditation on God's Word, we allow the old creature to shed and the new creature to come forth. We begin to see the beauty of God's creation. Our transformation is best described in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." RELECTION: Reflection on the transformation of a caterpillar to a butterfly. Now, reflect on your spiritual transformation. IMPARTATION: In your journal, write concerning the transformation which took place in your heart and mind. MEDITATION: ROMANS 12:2 COMMUNICATION: Father, I thank you for changing me from a wretched sinner to a beautiful Christian. Thank you for transforming my life to display the light of your glory within me. I am grateful to have the wings of an eagle so that I can soar beyond the person I used to be. Thank you. Amen.
