HE WILL KEEP YOU

Psalms 121:5---The Lord is thy keeper; the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

Growing up, when my sisters and I went to my grandmother's house, my mom and dad would tell us that our grandmother was going to keep us. we knew that meant we were going to be over at my grandmother's house for a certain period of time, and during that time, she would ensure everything was going good with us. My grandmother kept us safe. She kept us fed. She kept us from being disobedient (she definitely had her ways of doing this one!). As I think about the way my grandmother kept us, I also think about how God has kept me. He has watched over me every day, every minute, and every second.  Over the course of my life, God has made sure I was taken care of.  Even when I made wrong choices, God still kept me protected. He has kept me from many dangers. He has kept me from going astray. His ways of keeping me have varied. There are times I have been kept by reading His Word, by helping someone else, or by deciding not to go certain places. No matter how it was done, God has kept me, and I am so grateful.  God is my keeper and sustainer.  He guards my heart and keeps me close when I feel unsafe.  Always remember, God is a keeper even during those times you don't want to be kept.

RELECTION:  Have you ever experienced a moment when it felt as if God left you? Did you feel that your decisions were so far away from His will that He refused to sustain and keep you? What encouraged you to know that God will always keep you? IMPARTATION: Encourage yourself with Hebrews 12:5b--"...for he hath said, I will never leave you or forsake thee."

COMMUNICATION:  You are my keeper, sustainer, lifter of my head, everlasting Father, and guide. Father, I am thankful for who you are to me.  Thank you for your protection, direction, and instruction.  Thank you for wrapping me in your arms and watching over me every day of my life. Amen.
