PRAYER CORNER "GIVING UP IS NOT AN OPTION" DAY 20

HAVE NO FEAR Jeremiah 1:8---Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord. I do not have an appreciation for certain types of animals or reptiles.  One of those happens to be the snake. I have a fear of snakes that can almost be paralyzing. I don't even appreciate being in the same vicinity as a snake. Not even when I visit the zoo! Like me, I am sure that you have been afraid of something at some point in your life. You may have been afraid of the dark as a child, afraid of bad things happening, afraid of certain people, or afraid of the ministry God called you to do. Sometimes that fear paralyzes you to the point of stagnation. It is not always easy to overcome certain fears.. But just like Jeremiah, you have been chosen. God chose Jerimiah to speak to His people. He instructed him to not be afraid of their faces. God knew the task for Jeremiah was going to be difficult. Nonetheless Jeremiah was instructed to speak the prophetic word to the people, no matter their response or the outcome. Although Jeremiah was merely a child, he was called to utter the judgements of God toward Israel and Judah. What are you afraid of?  Does your fear hinder you from fulfilling your purpose? Are you afraid you won't succeed? Are you afraid of the naysayers? Take the time to remember the words God spoke to Jeremiah---don't be afraid! 2 Timothy 1:7a explicitly reminds us, "For God hath not given us a spirt of fear."  REFLECTION: What makes you afraid to fulfill your purpose, fear of failure or a fear of success? What paralyzes you into a state of fear from achieving your dreams or goals? Can you overcome your fear?   COMMUNICATION: How can I ever allow fear to overtake me knowing that you are always in control? Please forgive me. I will walk in faith, knowing that you are with me. Amen.
