PRAYER CORNER "GIVING UP IS NOT OPTION" DAY 40
REJOICE IN TEMPTATION James !:2-3---My brethren, count it all a joy when you fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Many of us ask the question, how can we be joyful when we are attacked by various temptations? The author of James is not saying that joy comes from the adversities of life because, in reality, it seems absurd. He is advocating that we uphold an attitude of rejoicing. The joy James is referring to is defined as having the ability to rejoice in the midst of the temptations you face. This is the joy that the world cannot give or take away. He is stating that we should "count it all joy" (a time of rejoicing) and have a good attitude when various trials and temptations come upon us. There is a difference between joy and happiness. Happiness come when good things "happen," but joy comes in spite of what happens, whether it is good or bad. James implores us to consider it a moment of rejoicing in the Lord when we experience what seems to be unbearable and devastating circumstances. We are to have the right attitude, because, as we walk through the temptation or trial, our faith is working us toward patience. Patience requires us to wait. It requires tenacity, perseverance, fortitude, fortitude, and persistence. Patience takes having the right attitude when faced with the calamities of life. We can continue to fly off the handle when faced with trials, or we can allow our attitude to be the attitude of Jesus Christ who has the answer. Philippians 2:5 (AMP) requires us to "Let this same attitude and purpose and (humble) mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: (Let Him be your example in humility:)" Consider everything you are facing at this moment and count it all as joy (a time of rejoicing) because God is faithful to work it out. "TIME WITH GOD" Write a devotional from your heart to God. Allow God to hear your heart's desires, your thoughts, and your gratefulness.
